This too shall pass...

When first the ancient king for wisdom sought

And to his sages commanded of old,

A constant line of truth to him be brought

They came again and this saying then retold:

“This too shall pass…” “Nay”, He said, “I will not!”

But now he is forgotten, his palace cold.
